40 Days of Prayer

Saturday, May 16, 2009
Our churchwide prayer emphasis starts Monday, May 18!  The focus of this prayer emphasis is our move to our new facility on Oasis Road.  We are praying that God would prepare us, prepare the facility and property, and prepare new people to join us there.

We have prepared a guide to give you some ideas for prayer: No literature found.
Contact the church office if you have any questions!

Creative Journeys

Wednesday, May 06, 2009
Hello from Garrett,

Over the past year, we have begun to gather artists in our faith community - with the vision of being encouraged and exposed to the creative process. There are many different forms of art God has gifted us with, and this night has been set apart to hear from different artists in our body. We share artistic expressions from the creative journey we find ourselves on, which also include life and faith stories....

Creative Journeys is a night for any and all to come and be encouraged, not just artists. It is my desire that we honor the different creative voices that God has given our community, and I believe that all our art is meant to honor our Creator.

I'm excited when I think of our new worship space on Oasis Road. I see it as a blank canvas for us to tell the story of Creation and Redemption through Jesus Christ. We are beginning work on some creative projects to begin sharing on our new walls. We also have a prayer path that we are creating to connect us with God and His creation - and we can all use a walk now and then, right?

I'm reminded of the prophet Nathan's conversation with King David after sleeping with Bathsheba and then having her husband, Uriah, killed so he could take Bathsheba for himself. In 2 Samuel 12, Nathan doesn't come right out and tell David he blew it, rather he tells an parrellel story of injustice that causes David to ultimately see the darkness of his own sins. It seems that Nathan slipped in through the back door of David's heart through the creative story he told. May our creative journey help people turn to Jesus...

peace and joy...
Garrett
