Living Under the Influence of the Holy Spirit!

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Last week we learned that you can live under the influence of the Holy Spirit as you consistently 1) Imitate Christ, 2) Put away the deeds of darkness, 3) Live in the light, 4) Be careful how you live, 5) Live thankfully and 6) Submit to the Christ in one another.  I think this sermon shook things up more than usual for our body.  I have received much more feedback on last week’s message than I have on any other in a long time.

DID YOU MISS IT?  I want to encourage you to listen to it if you did indeed miss it…and then join the conversation regarding what God is speaking to us from His Word.

You can listen to it on our website at: http://www.risenking.org/_blog/Risen_King_Podcasts/post/Under_the_Influence/

This Sunday (Aug 30) Jill and I will be presenting Paul’s exhortation to husbands and wives regarding what marriage is intended to be like under the influence of the Holy Spirit.  It is going to be good, and it will be a relevant message for singles as well as those married in our fellowship.

 Join the conversation!

Be Filled With The Holy Spirit!

Wednesday, August 19, 2009
Hi Friends!

This week we will be looking at Ephesians 5:1-20. I want to encourage you to prayerfully be looking at the text this week. How might God be speaking to you and our church community through this text? Life "under the influence" of the Holy Spirit is the kind of life we were really made for...a life that fills and fulfills...a life that brings God honor and positively impacts other people.

Dear God, please lead our Risen King family radically to Jesus this week and weekend. Grace us to confess, repent and renounce our sin. Grace us to humbly ask to be filled and come strongly under the influence of your Holy Spirit.

See you Sunday!
Bill

Christians are meant to be a sign and wonder to the world!

In preparing for my message this week I came across this quote that really highlights the significance of what we are currently studying in Scripture as a church body.  Read it prayerfully!  And take some time in this season to personally reflect on Paul's letter to the Ephesians.

Hey, I'm praying for you...please pray for me!
