Church Planting
At Risen King, we prioritize planting new churches because it is one of the most effective ways to connect with not-yet-Christians and accomplish our purpose: to make more and better disciples of Jesus and advance His Kingdom.
Some of the new churches we plant will be done in cooperation with overseas workers we have sent out from Risen King. Other churches will be ones we plant locally or regionally. Still others will be “faith communities.” (These are generally smaller gatherings of believers who are geographically grouped around a specific neighborhood and need an expression of church that’s more “custom fit” to them.)
Our most recent church plant in The Stirring, which we commissioned in January, 2007. By February of 2008 we hope to have two new faith communities started; by then we also hope to launch a multi-ethnic church plant focused on the emerging generation.
Looking ahead a bit further, by the end of 2009 we plan to have launched eight church plants: four local faith communities, one overseas church plant, and three local or regional plants. As these new churches plant churches, and as Risen King continues to start new churches, we look forward to seeing a network of multiplying churches develop!
Our church planting vision is closely tied to our leadership development track, our Emerging Leader Incubator. Visit the ELI Website for more information.
