Sunday Celebration
What Can I Expect on Sunday?
If you join us this Sunday, you can expect a 75 minute service in which we worship God through singing and listening to a Bible-based sermon. You’ll also find the opportunity to receive prayer if you’d like. Our worship style is contemporary, at times energetic and at other times contemplative. We place a high priority on preaching relevant messages that relate the truth of God’s Word to our everyday lives.
People don’t tend to dress up much for church services at Risen King; “come as you are” is our motto. Our church family is made up of a wide variety of people from many different backgrounds, income levels, kinds of jobs, family situations, etc.
We do have programs during our Sunday services for children from nursery age through high school. Currently our Sunday services are held at Mistletoe School at 9:30 and 11:15 a.m.
What About My Kids?
Every Sunday a team of committed and trained volunteers provide programs for children and youth of all ages.
“The Ark” is our program for nursery through Kindergarten ages. Class activities vary by age but include Bible stories, activity time, snacks, worship, playground time, crafts, and other hands-on learning games.
Our grade school children (first through sixth grades) are a part of “The Flood.” They start with a kids’ worship time when they are together for approximately 30 minutes, and then are dismissed to their classrooms. The worship time includes singing, games, activities, and prayer. The children love it! The classrooms are using a thematic curriculum called Discipleland. The theme changes every 16 weeks and the children have a culminating activity at the end of each unit.
Junior High and High School students have classes geared for them, as well. Both the Junior High and High School classes include Bible study and interactive discussion. The High Schoolers even get pancakes every Sunday! Our Junior High and High School classes are offered during first service (9:30 a.m.) only.
