Who We Are

  • A church for Redding

    Risen King is a local church in Redding, California. We love God with everything, we love people well, and we want that love to be visible in the way we live.

    That sounds simple. It's also the work of a lifetime.

    We want to be a church where people encounter the presence of God, build their lives on the Word of God, and find real community. Not a room full of strangers who happen to sit through the same service — a church family where you're known, cared for, challenged, and given room to grow.

    You don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. Come as you are. We'll point you to Jesus and take the next step with you.

    Our Lead Pastors are Cole Zick and Caitlin Zick.

    • Faith

      • Faith isn't a Sunday habit — it's a daily response to what Jesus has already done. We're committed to giving Him our whole life, not just the parts that fit neatly into an hour on Sunday.

    • Community

      • We were never meant to do life alone. Community here means being truly known and cared for — deep, lasting relationships that go beyond small talk into real life together.

    • Worship

      • Worship isn't confined to the songs we sing on Sunday — it's a life lived fully for Him. We worship Monday through Saturday with our lives so we don't lie on Sunday with our lips.

    • Word

      • We build our lives on Scripture and pursue the presence of God in equal measure. We believe both are essential — His Word and His presence together are where we find Him.

    • Ministry

      • Ministry isn't reserved for pastors on a stage — it's the calling of every believer. We equip and invite people to serve, lead, and pour into others, because the Church works best when everyone plays their part.

  • We exist to love God with everything and to love people well.

    When we love God with everything…

    • We give our whole lives to Jesus. Following Jesus is more than attending a service. Every part of life belongs to Him — our relationships, work, money, choices, gifts, failures, and future. And ministry isn't reserved for pastors. Every Christian is called to love people, carry the good news of Jesus, and take part in what God is doing.

    • We're people of the Word and the presence of God. We don't believe we have to choose between biblical truth and the work of the Holy Spirit. We build our lives on Scripture and make room for the presence and power of God. The Word gives us a foundation. The Spirit makes that truth alive in us and changes the way we live.

    • We worship with more than songs. We love worshiping together on Sundays, but worship doesn't end when the music stops. It's the way we live Monday through Saturday — so we don't lie on Sunday with our lips. We want our private lives and our public worship to tell the same truth about what matters to us.

    When we love people well…

    • We believe every person is worth pursuing. Jesus went out of His way for the one — the outcast, the overlooked, the hurting. We follow His lead, choosing to see and pursue people the way He does, no matter where they're starting from.

    • We love people in practical ways. People aren't projects. They're made in the image of God and worth knowing. We want to listen well, tell the truth, make room at the table, care for people when life hurts, and help each other grow. Love should be something people experience here, not just something we talk about.

  • Risen King is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). We align with the C&MA Statement of Faith and share its commitment to knowing Jesus and making Him known.

Cole & Caitlin Zick

  • Hey, we're Cole and Cait!

    We've been married for over 20 years, we have four high-energy kids, and we genuinely love building the local church together.

    Before Redding, we spent 13 years serving at Capital Christian Center in Sacramento, much of that time with young people and families. We moved to Redding in 2017 to lead Moral Revolution, and on July 16, 2023, we stepped into the Lead Pastor role at Risen King.

    We didn't come here to erase the church's history and start over. Risen King had deep roots, faithful people, and years of stories that mattered. We came to honor what God had already built and help this church become healthy, effective, and ready for what's next.

    The question we keep asking is whether we can live out a modern-day Acts 2:42–47. Devoted to the teaching, to each other, to breaking bread and to prayer. Sharing what we have. Meeting in homes as much as in a building. Glad and sincere hearts. That's the church we want to build.

    At the core, we're passionate about two things: loving God with everything we have, and loving people well.

Brecklyn Olof

  • Hey there, I’m Brecklyn! I’m originally from Alabama, but I’ve been in Redding for a number of years now and am proud to call Redding home. I’m married to the love of my life, Colin, who you’ll be sure to bump into if you visit! Together, we’re proud parents to our son.

    I’ve been part of ministry all my life, and the heartbeat of who I am is getting to love people well and create a safe environment where people can find Jesus and community. That’s why I’m so passionate about my role at Risen King.

    Loving God and loving people well is in the DNA of Risen King, and I love getting to see that lived out every day here!

Micheal Miller

John Wiseman

  • Transported to Northern California by alien spacecraft in 1992, my wife and I now consider Redding to be our home base. I have maintained my deep cover as a pastor for 46 years and thus have avoided detection by the CIA and NSA. Unfortunately, I have not avoided the IRS. We greatly enjoy our interaction with the people you call ‘Church Folks.’

    Now on a more serious Note - B-flat

    My wife, Deb, and I have served with the Alliance since 1977 when we married. I am a city boy from Akron, Ohio and she is a dairy farm gal from Nowthen, Minnesota. We came to Redding in 1992 to serve on staff at Neighborhood Church and in 2008 joined the Risen King Ministry Team. It is our calling to help people find the abundant life promised in the Gospel and to help them grow in it. We currently focus our energies in the areas of Missions, Seniors Ministry, Care/Support Groups, and Associate Pastor. We are blessed to have our daughter and her husband, along with our three grandsons living in Redding as well. It is such a joy to be in community at Risen King seeking all that God has as we continue to grow in faith and service for His glory.

Buddy James

  • Amy and I moved here from the Bay Area about 4 years ago when I got a job as senior designer of the creative team at a church here in Redding. Before moving here, we were the worship pastors at an Assemblies of God church for 8 years and I was also the young adults pastor & senior designer there. We’ve been involved in ministry for over 15 years and have been married for 12. We have two miracle baby girls, Aurora is 5 years old & Lily is 4 months old. I am passionate about seeing people engage with their calling. I love opening doors of opportunity, especially in worship, for people to walk those things out with the Lord. I love the tight knit community that is growing here at Risen King as well as the warm, welcoming vibe. I also love the passionate worship culture and rich history of Risen King.

Janice Harley

  • Janice Harley is passionate about investing in the next generation and creating an engaging space where children and parents feel known, seen, and safe.

    She has had the privilege of serving in children’s ministry leadership for over 20 years. Janice and her husband, Rob, relocated to Redding from South Florida where she was a licensed minister serving in children’s ministry at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. Prior to that she was serving at James River Church in Springfield, Missouri.


    Rob is also passionate about ministry and is serving at Simpson University. They have a son attending college in Southern California and a daughter serving in women’s ministry in South Florida. Janice loves coffee, hiking, traveling, and is also slightly obsessed with her puppy, Paddington London Bear.

    Janice feels honored and excited to serve the families of Risen King and continue to invest in the next generation of world changers.

Dylan & Paige Mosshart

  • We are the Mosshart’s! We met at a Christian summer camp where we both served on staff. After getting married in Spokane, WA we moved to Redding about 8 years ago. We own a vintage clothing store in downtown Redding called Fridays Vintage and love being able to be a part of this amazing city through our business. You can find us living the “lake life” during the summer trying to stay cool, hanging and working the front desk at our shop or out on the pickle ball courts rallying with friends. Our heart is to see young adults and adults alike come alive through living their lives completely surrendered to Jesus. Family and community are incredibly important to us. That is why we were so drawn to Risen King. From the moment we walked in the doors we felt like we were home. Connections came easy and we could see the genuineness of everyone we met! We’re so excited to be leading the high schoolers as we call each teen to know individually that they are called and chosen by God.

Karen Warren

  • I am originally from San Francisco and moved to far Northern California because of my love of the great outdoors. I am married to my best friend, and we are blessed to have a daughter, son-in-law, and three wonderful grandchildren living in Redding. I spent much of my career marketing California as a travel destination, and now I have the privilege of marketing Jesus, something I am enthusiastic about because my reward is in the Kingdom of Heaven. My heart for my role as Women’s Ministry Director is to encourage women to live out their spiritual gifts in a way that is honoring to God. I am passionate about encouraging connection and community between generations of women that will bring growth, healing, and transformed lives. I love Risen King because it is authentic and welcoming, and we

    love well.

Nathalie Tiffany

  • Hi, I'm Nathalie Tiffany and I serve as the Administrative & Personal Assistant at the church. I love serving others and enjoy using my gifts behind the scenes to help our church fulfill its mission. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, playing tennis, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of what God is doing through our church, and I look forward to serving our congregation with excellence, joy, and a heart for Christ.

Rebecca Kato

  • Hi! My name is Rebecca. I was born in Wisconsin, raised in North Carolina and lived 7 years in Brazil where my family is from. I moved to Redding in 2019 to attend ministry school and now call Redding home. I am married to the best guy out there, Rafael, and we have a beautiful baby boy, Kaleo. I was raised in and have served in local church all my life and it is my honor to be a part of the team that is creating the same for our children to be raised in a church home and a church family that loves God, our city and each other really well.

Sarah Hewitt

  • Hey, I’m Sarah!
    I grew up in Susanville, and moved to Redding in 2012. I’ve been in ministry my whole life, mostly in a volunteer capacity. After about a decade in another church in town, God brought me to Risen King in 2023, and it’s been a beautiful blessing! God has done absolutely incredible things in my life, and I’ve developed a deep love for investing in and loving His people really well. Growth, inner healing, life-on-life discipleship and mentoring are my jam!

    I’m also a creative ( tattoos, design, illustration, photography). I deeply love how God uses the arts and the creative process to heal places in our souls in such unique ways. I’m blessed to be able to use these gifts to build his kingdom and love his people!

Russ York

  • I was raised mainly in New Mexico and Texas (along with Oklahoma, Michigan, New Zealand, & Miami), but I am proud to have lived in California longer than anywhere! I have been in Redding for 26 years & Risen King Church has been at the core of my family and fellowship for that entire time.

    I love encouraging people, helping them deal with the challenges we all face, to prosper and do their very best in life.

    Music is an all-around passion for me; learning to worship God on a deeper level really changed my spiritual life, and I love to lead people in worship.

    I love that Risen King is a friendly family for a diverse group of people and that we are all finding our place as we walk together, led and empowered by God’s Holy Spirit.

Jen McCloskey

  • I was born and raised in the Redding area and now live here with my hubby Tom. We have a son, Travis, with two grandboys, and a daughter, Haley, who is about to have a baby girl any day! I am passionate about being led by God daily and keeping my faith and hope fully in Him. Risen King has been our church family for 18 years and I love seeing so many passionate people serving in God’s church! I love to pray for people and watch God show up in mighty ways for them. I love Jesus. I love His family. I love being His disciple and I’m so excited to do my part in helping grow His Kingdom.

Lennox Humphrey

  • I am originally from Detroit, MI but grew up all over the Midwest. I claim Stone Mountain, GA, and Evanston, IL as hometowns. I moved to Redding in 2003, with my (then) soon-to-be wife. We found Risen King in the fall of 2004 and it has been the spring of a lot of my spiritual growth. My stepdaughter is our oldest, while my wife and I have two sons, and the youngest is our daughter. I love helping believers find their identity in Christ, discover their gifts, and advance the Kingdom. I love Risen King simply because we are a Church that welcomes people wherever they are on their journey and we faithfully walk with them from a place of love.

Catherine Littlefield

  • I’ve been in Redding since 2004 when work transferred me for a Regional HR position. Previously in WA & Southern CA, we raised two amazing sons and fostered many others. My late husband of 31 years and I visited Risen King Community Church after observing an RKCC Pastor & his wife interact with their then young children in such an honoring way at a local restaurant. We found this church family to be warmly welcoming, teaching, growing and equipping us well in the Word of God. They were especially supportive and are the reason I remain in Redding rather than move near family after being widowed. I am passionate to continue walking in the love of Jesus this church exemplifies, trusting God’s Holy Spirit to lead, praying for and encouraging each other and those who don’t know Jesus, caring for the wounded and those in need, and ultimately bringing hope in Jesus.

Dan Haskins

  • I grew up in Redding and my wife, Lynn, is from Stockton, CA. We met in college and have been married for 45 years. We have three married children, two girls and one boy, and seven grandchildren. We have attended Risen King for 23 years. I have served as an elder and governing board member for the past 15 years. Lynn serves in the children’s ministry. Our passion is to know and love the Lord more deeply and with joy! We are also passionate about reaching those in our community who do not know Jesus yet. We love Risen King because it is a family that truly cares for each other through times of blessing and times of hardship. We are so excited about what God is currently doing at Risen King as we see our family growing in love for Jesus and love for each other!

Ryan Yamane

  • Hello Risen King, my name is Ryan Yamane!  My wife, Julianne, and I both grew up on the West Coast, and after spending many wonderful years in Texas, we moved to the Redding area in 2020 when the Lord made it clear that we should come. We now live in Palo Cedro with our five children—Hallie, Maggie, Aubrie, Hudson, and Tucker—who all attend or have graduated from Redding Christian School.

    We made Risen King our home in 2023 and are excited to see God’s hand at work here! I’m passionate about business, smoking (and eating!) meat, and watching God strengthen marriages and family relationships through intentional discipleship. Our family loves hosting friends and gathering together, and we look forward to getting to know you!
